Beer City USA – How does GR maintain this title?

Home to more than 40 craft breweries, the greater Grand Rapids area was just named Beer City USA for the 11th year in a row. However, the latest accolade comes during a turbulent time for the maturing craft beer industry, which faces rising costs, a consolidating distribution tier, and a consumer base that is shifting its buying habits to other types of beverages. As some early local brewery pioneers begin to cash out and an aging base of owners eventually looks to retire, it’s clear the industry will continue changing in the years ahead. Hear from four of the region’s top breweries about how they are preparing for what’s next and get their take on what West Michigan can do to cement its position as a national beer destination.
