Business Study Abroad Program

The Economic Club established a fund in 2000 to provide financial assistance to students pursuing study abroad in business, managed by The Grand Rapids Foundation. One (or more) scholarships of $2,500 will be awarded annually. The applicant must meet the following criteria:

Sophomore or above standing in a business program at any public college or university. Applicant must have at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average. Applicant must be a resident of Kent, Allegan, Ottawa or Muskegon counties or be a resident student at a public college or university in the West Michigan area. Foreign study programs must be endorsed and accepted as a part of or credit course in the applicant’s degree granting college or university. Funds must be administered through the home college/university financial aid office.

George J. Slykhouse Scholarship

Two $2,500 scholarships are awarded annually by The Economic Club of Grand Rapids Scholarship fund, and two $2,500 scholarships are awarded annually by the George J. Slykhouse scholarship fund named for our founder. The Grand Rapids Community Foundation includes the opportunity in it’s application process.
