Amy Webb is widely recognized as the global authority who transformed the practice of strategic foresight into a rigorous, data-driven discipline. A pioneering quantitative futurist, she established the field’s foundational methodologies that today guide leaders, organizations, and governments in anticipating disruption, shaping the future, and securing long-term growth.
As Founder and CEO of the Future Today Strategy Group (FTSG), Amy built the world’s first foresight tools grounded in quantitative modeling. Her firm’s foresight methodology identifies early signals of transformation across industries, converts them into actionable intelligence, and maps the implications of emerging technologies—from artificial intelligence and biotechnology to climate systems and geoeconomic realignments. This approach has set the standard for evidence-based futures strategy worldwide.
Amy and her team advise a significant portion of the Fortune 100. New CEOs rely on her counsel to navigate leadership transitions and articulate a vision for the next decade. Seasoned executives turn to her to identify their organizations’ next growth curves, while boards of directors seek her guidance to understand disruption, systemic risk, and opportunity amid accelerating change.
She is also a trusted advisor to the White House, U.S. federal agencies, Congress, the European Union, and the United Nations, where her work informs global technology governance and long-term policy planning. Amy was elected a life member of the Council on Foreign Relations and is a member of the Bretton Woods Committee. She is a founding member of the World Economic Forum’s Strategic Foresight Advisory Board, a member of the WEF’s Global Risks Board, the WEF’s Business and Economic Growth Board, and is an AI Governance Alliance partner. She served as a Delegate in the former US-Russia Bilateral Presidential Commission, where she advised on the future of technology and international diplomacy.
Amy also collaborates with the creative community to shape how millions of people imagine the future. Amy advises writers, directors, and producers on projects for Netflix, Hulu, and Marvel, ensuring that the futures portrayed in popular culture reflect plausible science, tech evolution, and human possibility.
Ranked the #3 Most Influential Management Thinker in the World by Thinkers50, Amy is regarded as one of the most important voices on the future of technology, business, and society. Forbes named her “one of the five women changing the world,” and the BBC recognized her among its 100 Women of the Year.
A prolific author, Amy has written four seminal books, including the international bestseller The Big Nine, which reframed global debates about AI, and The Genesis Machine, named by The New Yorker as one of the year’s best nonfiction works. Her books—translated into 23 languages—are read in boardrooms, classrooms, and policy circles around the world; two have been optioned for film.
